In 2006 Bailey requested the restoration of 3 Jean Shrimpton images originally shot in 1963. His sister had found the prints in her basement, faded, scratched, water damaged, scuffed and torn. The transparencies, long since lost, needed to be replaced, so the prints required nursing back to their original state of clarity and perfection as they were to be reproduced as high quality platinum prints. No actual beauty retouching was required and the images were kept as true to the originals as possible, testament to Jeans long lasting style and beauty. The image (far right) finally made it into Vogue in December 2009, 46 years after it was originally shot. All three pictures were featured in 'Seven Images That Change Fashion' by Rankin for BBC4.
